what pre-production is

Pre-production is a part of the filming process that comes before production. During the pre -production directors (we) will be discussing; the script, the budget, location, script break down (what we will need to do in each scene), casting, storyboard, shot list, titles, shooting schedule and organizing (gear/props/costumes). Each of these thing will need to be thought about before the filming. This is to make sure that the crew know what they should be doing and when they need to be doing it. For example, the camera man or woman will need to know what angles/shot the director want or what kind of atmosphere they want the audience to have when watching the film.
