mise-en-scene
Mise en scene is also known as clamps (Costume, Lighting, Actor, Movement, Props, Settings). Mise en scene is an element of film, it comes from the french meaning "put into the scene". Mise en scene is important as it is everything that appears on screen, it is often used when the overall look and feel of the film is under discussion. Mise en scene adds to the realism, it makes it more believable and plausible, it also help the audience understand who the characters are and what they represent.

Editing
Editing is a process about putting different film shots together to make a story. Without editing you may have one continuous shot that may go on and on, and not hold the audience. There are many different factors involved in editing such as for example cutting, transitioning, invisible and visible editing, editing the passage of time, special effects and visual effects. Within these headings are many smaller features. These components combined influences the presentation of the final story. Editing makes the story come together and keeps the audience hooked. A great example of editing is by the great director Alfred Hitchcock which you can view on this you tube channel; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCAE0t6KwJY&feature=PlayList&p=DC6A8F00C8251D25&index=3

preliminary task
brief; film a scene about one person walking though a door and siting down to have a conversation with another person it should last .
we used match on action, shot revers shot, and 180-degree rule to help us with our scene.
match on action is when there is a one shot cuts to another shot but it looks like it has continued, it is used as a "visual bridge" for the audience don't realises that it has been cut .
Shot revers shot is a shot where the audience can see over one characters shoulder to see another character or object, it is then followed by looking at the character to see their expression or emotion.
180 degree rule is when there is a line down the center of the two people and they only use 180 degrees so the audience can see that two people are having a conversation.

Sound Task WW1
sound task make up 70% of a film this means it is a crucial part of the film making process. in class we tried to replicate what we thought it would sound like in WW1 within 30 seconds, through the use of sound. we used a verity so sound such as sound motif and dialog all to make it seem more realistic.

Still Movie
This is a still movie that I produced in class. The task was a produce a film that showed to close friend having an argument. During this piece i focused on camera angles, and try to make sure that the expression can be seen on the actors face. This is because it was the only way of showing what was happening in the film.

storyboard
In class we have been looking at camera angles. We were told to design a storyboard for a still movie about two people falling out but before we filmed it we created a storyboard. This helps to plan what will happen in the film. This is the storyboard we created in class.

This power point tells you what each camera shot is and give an example from a film. This help me to understand when and how to use each shot when making a film.
